MFP is looking to hire a dedicated individual to fulfill our Purchasing Assistant position and join the MFP team.
Title: Purchasing Assistant
Status: Full Time exempt/non-exempt
Department: Purchasing
Reports to: Purchasing Manager
Purpose of the Position: The Purchasing Assistant provides support to the quoting, production & procurement teams. This team member is responsible for accurate order entry, timely delivery of products and effective communication with suppliers and internal customers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Processing purchase order entry, acknowledgements and internal communication regarding supplier delays
- Respond to internal customer requests in a timely manner
- Collaborates with production and sales team for customer expectations and delivery
- Maintains inventory levels and adjusts according to usage and customer demand to ensure fast turnaround
- Address supplier quality concerns in a timely manner focusing on a mutually beneficial approach
- Assists with internal reporting metrics
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent with a general knowledge of office procedures and a demonstrated ability in basic math, reading and writing
- Able to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy in data entry and typing for order entry and internal and external correspondence
- Analytical approach to inventory control & management
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams
- Strong organization skills and time management
Critical Competencies:
- Efficient in typing and basic computer skills
- Detail oriented and strong communication skills
- Passion to learn new software programs for daily use (ERP & Others)
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Working Conditions: Standard office environment
Salary: Negotiable ($41,6000 - $52,000) plus annual profit sharing bonus
