Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The Payroll Clerk will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our payroll system and supporting various accounting functions.
Duties
- Process payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform data entry tasks related to payroll, including updating employee records and managing timekeeping systems.
- Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain general ledger accounting by recording journal entries related to payroll transactions.
- Conduct general ledger reconciliation to ensure all payroll-related accounts are accurate.
- Assist with accounts receivable tasks as needed, including tracking payments and managing invoices.
- Collaborate with HR and management to ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
- Generate reports on payroll expenses, deductions, and other financial metrics for management review.
Requirements
- Proven experience in payroll processing or a similar accounting role.
- Proficiency in using payroll software such as Paychex or equivalent systems.
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and practices.
- Familiarity with financial concepts related to payroll and accounting.
- Ability to analyze financial data effectively and make informed decisions.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
