Job Overview
An Apartment Make-Ready Technician is responsible for preparing vacant apartment units for new tenants. This includes performing a variety of tasks such as cleaning, painting, repairing, and replacing items to ensure the unit is in top condition. The technician addresses any maintenance issues, such as fixing plumbing, electrical, or appliance problems, and ensures all systems are functioning properly. Make-Ready Technicians work efficiently to meet deadlines, ensuring the apartments are ready for occupancy in a timely manner. Attention to detail and the ability to complete repairs and cleaning tasks independently are key aspects of this role.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure readiness for operation.
- Utilize tools such as an ohmmeter to diagnose electrical issues.
- Fabricate components as needed to meet operational requirements.
- Work with logic controllers to troubleshoot and resolve system malfunctions.
- Perform welding tasks to repair or modify equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
- Supervise junior technicians or apprentices, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and address any customer service concerns.
Experience
- Proven experience in a technical role with a focus on mechanical and electrical systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge, including the ability to read and interpret schematics.
- Familiarity with customer service principles, ensuring positive interactions with clients.
- Experience in supervising or mentoring team members is preferred.
- Proficiency in using various tools and equipment relevant to the trade, including welding equipment.
