INSPECTOR PACKER PLUS

SUMMARY

Responsible for the quality of manufactured parts and provides feedback to Machine Operators & Pulpers to optimize production. Under close supervision, determines whether final product meets company quality standards and customer requirements.

“Plus” means that the individual is responsible and cross trained to fill in the following positions as needed: Presser, Pulper, Material Handling.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Ensures the quality of manufactured parts and provide feedback to Machine Operators & Team Lead to optimize production.

· Ensures correct pack out procedures are being followed.

· Ensure pallets are built according to specifications.

· Determines whether or not final product meets company quality standards and customer requirements.

· Partners with and refers more complex issues of product acceptability to Production Supervisor or Quality for approval.

· Completes daily inspection and pack report.

· Participate in a variety of cleaning duties during production shut down.

· Ability to operate hot press and ensure the quality of final product.

· Must meet or exceed predetermined rate of speed of hot press products.

· Gauges, calibrates and inspects finished product according to customer and internal requirements.

· Communicates quality issues to Machine Operators, Working Team Lead and Pulpers for corrective

measures.

· Trains and directs new Inspector/Packers on customer specific quality and packing requirements.

· Safe and conscientious handling of weight measuring and calibration equipment in order to regularly monitor

quality.

· Ability to operate Hot Press or conduct rework as needed.

· Maintains work area in clean and safe condition.

· Cross trained as a Presser, Pulper, and Material Handler

· Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• High school, GED or equivalent work experience.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Supervisory Responsibility

• No direct employee supervision.
• Ability to train and guide new team members as they join the team

Complexity

• The ability to read and comprehend various diagrams and pack out instructions is required.

• The ability to count and complete basic mathematical calculations is required.
• The ability to use weight measuring and calibration equipment and understand units of measure.

Latitude of Judgment.

• High degree of interaction and decisions made with co-workers.
• Minimal guidance and supervision required in daily execution of duties. Refers complex issues to Production Supervisor.

Physical Demands/Efforts

• The position requires the ability to stand, walk, climb, and/or sit up to 12 hours.
• The incumbent must be able to use their hands to finger, handle and touch materials, parts and equipment.
• The position requires the ability to both talk and hear.
• Required to lift 10 pounds frequently; and pushes and/or lifts up to 40 pounds occasionally.
• Although not typically performed, the incumbent is required when lifting over 40 pounds to use prescribed methods which include material handling equipment.

Visual Demands

• Specific vision abilities required by this position include: close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

• In the production environment, the position is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
• May infrequently be exposed to work in elevated area.
• May be exposed to above average / below average temperatures.
• The noise level in the production work environment is usually loud.
• Employees are expected to comply with existing safety procedures including but not limited to proper lifting mechanics, use of protective equipment and maintaining a safe work environment

OTHER JOB-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work at pace determined by machines.
• Must adhere to our PPE policy: safety glasses, safety shoes, face coverings and other special PPE dependent on tasks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.50 per hour
