SUMMARY OF ROLE:
The Product Manager is responsible for the overall development and management of MFUSED’s product lines. This role involves managing product lines, including identifying potential products, conducting market research, generating product requirements, determining specifications and pricing, and developing plans for product introduction. Additionally, the Product Manager will work with internal partner teams to advise and collaborate on marketing, education, and sales strategies to ensure successful product launches and market penetration.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, but other duties may be assigned):
- Market Research: Conduct detailed market research to understand customer needs and desires, including surveys, focus groups, and data analysis.
- Product Recommendations: Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing and updating product specifications and requirements and assessing new product ideas or packaging changes.
- Competitive Analysis: Continuously assess market competition by comparing MFUSED’s products with those of competitors and identifying areas for opportunity or improvement.
- Collaboration: Work with internal partner teams to advise and collaborate on marketing, product education, and sales strategy to ensure product alignment and consistent and accurate messaging.
- Quality: Partner with operations and production teams to ensure products align with vision, and quality measures are achieved. Engage with labs as needed and approve batch lab results per specifications.
- Manufacturing: Support the management of local contract manufacturers in the areas of product conception, production, and quality assurance.
- New Product Introduction: Manage the process of bringing new products to market, including analyzing proposed product requirements, conducting return-on-investment analyses, and coordinating with engineering and manufacturing to establish time schedules.
- Pricing Strategy: Determine product pricing by analyzing market research data, reviewing production and sales costs, and forecasting sales volumes for special and customized orders.
- Costs: Track and assist in managing input costs, including ingredient specification and quality, profit margin consideration, and ongoing availability.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports regarding positioning and health of products in the market.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- No direct supervision. Will set performance standards and monitor the progress of product quality and production demands.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Product Manager Certification is advantageous but not required.
- Will be required to obtain certificates or licenses within 90 days of employment that are required to operate in existing markets. Additionally, will need to be able to obtain certificates and licenses in new markets as needed.
- A valid driver's license and a willingness to travel as needed for business purposes.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Product Management, or a related field. Experience may substitute for a degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in product management or a related role, preferably within the cannabis industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing product lines from conception through to market launch.
- Experience with market research methodologies and competitive analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to partner to develop and execute product marketing strategies with a marketing team.

- Product Management: Experience managing regulated packaged goods and providing product insights.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, engineering, and manufacturing.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in product management software and tools, such as JIRA, Trello, or similar platforms.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The role requires the ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Occasional travel may be required to visit retailers, production sites, attend conferences, and meet with customers.
- The work environment is primarily office-based, with occasional visits to production and customer sites.
- Exposure to cannabis products and manufacturing equipment may occur.
Compensation for this role will be based on experience, work location, and other factors. Candidates must be at least 21 years old. We are not sponsoring Visas at this time. Must be able to legally work in the United States. Candidates will need to provide documentation verifying identity and legal work authorization within 3 business days.
