Role Introduction

The Web Developer will collaborate with a team of designers, content creators, and technical staff to deliver high-quality interactive experiences for internal clients and external audiences. The position is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining MG2’s proprietary web system, digital applications, tools, and websites in addition to ongoing development of new functionality and supporting the global firm as a subject matter expert knowledge about proprietary systems, tools, data, and managing/supporting projects. This position supports our Senior Web Developer to work with internal clients to understand requirements, develop wireframes and prototypes, build final products, and contribute to the planning, testing, and iterations of releases throughout the product's lifecycle. Familiarity with architectural project lifecycle is key to be successful in this role.

What Your Day Will Look Like

• Will be part of the web development team and work with the senior web developer on all technical aspects of MG2's proprietary web system apps and tools and user support as needed within the Virtual Studio portals ( 1 internal and various sub portals for client and subcontractor access) and MG2's main website.
• Serves as a Web Developer of front-and back-end application(s) that include:
• Virtual Studio Portal, an in-house built application where all project management and business functions are performed or accessed. Lead development to enhance and optimize functionality.
• Integration with third party software’s e.g. Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) for contract/budget/design document management; Smartsheet for project tracking; Deltek for timesheets & billings; and Chrome River for client expense management
• Works with Accounting & Finance team to align business requirements into executable client services i.e digital invoicing, billing and auto emailing, particularly around the rollout of new web systems, apps and feature releases
• Builds highly performant and responsive apps, tools, and proprietary websites that support firmwide business processes and client management portals specific to architectural projects and client needs
• Contributes and recommends sound technical mockups and interactive prototypes to help project teams conceptualize the application functionality and user interface/experience
• Optimizes web applications for maximum speed, efficiency, and scalability that contribute to the bottom line
• Works with the Database Solution Manager to understand the database design and implement web applications that read and write data. This data serves all of MG2’s in-house proprietary systems, applications, and tools.
• Serves as a subject matter expert to the global firm with the Project Management Organization (PMO), IT consultants, and architectural project teams which are the core of MG2’s business.
• When needed, partners with creative architectural and interior design teams and related stakeholders to conduct ongoing needs assessments.
• As needed partners with the international IT Manager, Asia Operations in Shanghai to update and extend web applications that support MG2’s operations based in Asia. As needed, this role may develop new intranet features, application interfaces, and reporting dashboards
• Explores and stays up to date with the latest tools and technologies to deliver an interactive and efficient system

Requirements

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree and/or certification in Web Design, Computer Science or related field
• 4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an in-house team or corporate setting
• Expertise in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Experience using the Angular framework
• Experience with PHP programming language
• Experience with cloud and custom-built services for computing, storage, networking, data flow, security/access and provisioning/management of services and resources.
• Knowledge of server-side programming languages like java
• Experience working with Nginx or Apache web servers and SQL Server databases
• Knowledge of Git source control management (VCS: git, Gitlab)
• Experience with WordPress CMS is preferred
• Knowledge of Power BI and Excel
  
  

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with libraries such as React or Angular js
• Experience with SharePoint and Power BI (or a willingness to learn).

National Salary Ranges

Web Developer: $98,450-$140,750

Please note that this role is a salaried and exempt position, and therefore, is not eligible for overtime pay. If position is eligible for remote status, ranges may be adjusted. Acknowledging the time employees typically spend in the role, compensation is dependent on applicable years of experience and skillset, and level of project revenue impacted.
