Job Title: UI/UX Designer / Web Design / Front-End Integration Specialist
Location: Chicago, IL (Remote)
Duration: 12 months with possible extension

Primary Objective:
- The UI/UX Designer / Web Design Integration Specialist is responsible for designing and developing user-centric, visually engaging digital experiences while ensuring seamless integration of applications and technologies within the organization's web ecosystem.
- This role focuses on UI/UX design, front-end development, and system integration, creating responsive WordPress templates and reusable front-end components based on Figma designs.
- The specialist will also support web integration efforts, ensuring that digital interfaces effectively connect with APIs, enterprise systems, and other applications to provide a seamless user experience.
- Working closely with MarCom and OIT teams, this position ensures brand consistency, accessibility, usability, and technical integration across CCC websites. The ideal candidate blends expertise in UI/UX design, front-end development, and web integration to create cohesive, high-performing digital platforms.
Responsibilities:
Design & Prototyping
- Develop high-fidelity wireframes, prototypes, and mockups in Figma that align with CCC's branding and user experience goals.
- Build and maintain a Figma component library to ensure design consistency across colleges and digital platforms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business and user needs into intuitive UX/UI solutions.
- Apply accessibility (WCAG, ADA) best practices to all design work.
Front-End Implementation
- Convert Figma designs into responsive, scalable WordPress templates and UI components.
- Utilize CSS frameworks (Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS) and UI libraries to streamline front-end development.
- Develop modular, reusable front-end components that integrate with CCC's CMS and content publishing strategy.
- Optimize web interfaces for performance, cross-browser compatibility, and mobile responsiveness.
- Work within WordPress's templating system, ensuring design fidelity and
- functional flexibility.
Project Execution and Collaboration:
- Work alongside OIT and MarCom teams to refine designs and deliver seamless digital experiences.
- Help create design documentation and style guides to support consistency across teams.
- Participate in user testing and feedback loops to refine UX/UI based on data- driven insights.
- Assist with site launches, migrations, and content updates to align with evolving brand standards.
Brand Cohesion and Component Management:
- Maintain brand consistency across all digital platforms by building out a standard
- Figma component library as brand standards evolve.
- Work closely with MARCOM teams to integrate new branding elements into the component library and website templates.
- Support content and design updates that reinforce a consistent user experience across digital channels.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, UX/UI Design, Web Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience/certifications.
Experience
- 3 years of experience in UI/UX design with front-end development knowledge, preferably within higher education or complex web ecosystems.
Technical Skills
- Expert proficiency in Figma, including component libraries, design systems, and prototyping.
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front-end implementation.
- Experience with CSS frameworks (Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS) and modern UI libraries.
- Familiarity with WordPress templating and content management workflows.
- Basic understanding of PHP for WordPress customization is a plus.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA) and user-centered design principles.
- Experience working with version control systems (Git).
Soft Skills
- Strong visual design skills with a keen eye for typography, color, and layout.
- Ability to translate abstract ideas into effective, user-friendly designs.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
