Position Description
McKesson seeks an experienced government contracts attorney with four to six years of law firm or in-house (company or government) legal experience supporting contracting with federal, state, local, and tribal governments. This role will report to McKesson’s Managing Lead Counsel, Government Contracts and advise McKesson Medical-Surgical Government Solutions on an array of government contracts issues.
Primary responsibilities
- Provide legal support for McKesson Medical-Surgical Government Solutions’ pursuit and performance of federal, state, local, and tribal government contracts
- Develop close working relationship with business stakeholders to facilitate efficient and effective review of solicitations and preparation of proposals
- Work directly with business leaders and other members of the General Counsel Organization (“GCO”) to identify and address risks and issues raised by contracting with the government
- Represent McKesson Medical-Surgical Government Solutions in engagements with government attorneys and contracting professionals
- Collaborate with other attorneys and members of the GCO and business teams that engage with government customers to advise, develop and implement appropriate compliance processes and controls that appropriately address government contracting requirements
- Serves as a legal advisor to business unit leaders on a wide array of topics relating to segment needs, including legal risk mitigation, customer management, strategic initiatives and compliance programs
- Experience with the healthcare industry or other areas of federal oversight are desired
