SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting financial operations within the organization. This position is responsible for maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with various accounting functions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Handle all aspects of accounts payable, from data entry and verification to payment processing.

Reconcile bank accounts monthly, ensuring outstanding items are resolved within 30 days.

Coordinate vendor payments, including verification of tax identification details and resolution of discrepancies.

Assist in the setup and approval of electronic payments for financial transactions.

Manage vendor accounts while ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures.

Process financial disbursements and related documentation.

Prepare and record journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.

Enter and maintain data for both accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Generate and analyze reports related to payables and overall financial status.

Assist with audit requests and documentation preparation.

Follow up on outstanding vendor and customer records as needed.

Maintain general ledger records and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Prepare and file tax forms, such as 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC, in compliance with deadlines.

Monitor and reconcile both routine and complex financial transactions.

Perform additional accounting-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

Ability to quickly learn and adapt to various accounting software systems.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar tools.

High attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining accurate and confidential records.

High school diploma required; a degree in Business or Accounting is preferred.

1–2 years of related accounting experience is required.

Certification such as Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) is a plus.
