Job Description: To provide crisis prevention and management, monitoring, assessment, rehabilitative skills training, service planning and coordination for adults with mental illness. Psychosocial Rehabilitative Services are defined as social, educational, vocational, behavioral, and cognitive interventions provided by members of a client’s therapeutic team that address deficits in the individual’s ability to develop and maintain social relationships, occupational or educational achievement, independent living skills, and housing, that are a result of a severe and persistent mental illness. Service coordination involves accessing medical, social, educational, and other appropriate services that will help an individual achieve a quality of life and community participation acceptable to the individual. Crisis On Call work required as agency need dictates.
Education: Required Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral, social sciences, humanities, or education field.
Experience: Prefers previous casework or teaching experience with persons with mental illness.
Hours of Work: 8 am - 5 pm Monday – Friday; At times may need to have a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of programs and families.
Licenses/Certifications: Ability to be credentialed as a Qualified Mental Health Professional; valid Texas Driver’s license and insurable by Agency insurance; Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of Adult Needs and Strengths Assessment (ANSA) certification as well as Illness, Management and Recovery (IMR) certification.
Physical Requirements: Light lifting under 15 lbs., moderate carrying 15-44 lbs., simple grasping, walking, sitting, standing, operating a motor vehicle, operating office equipment including a computer, ability to see and hear (with aid), ability to read, write and count, ability to maintain confidentiality, ability to work closely with others; ability to pass the Preventative Management of Aggressive Behavior (PMAB) Training as well as all other physical requirements for this position.
