DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: 10 East provides geriatric care to patients 70 years of age and older. Acute Care of Elderly (ACE) is a specialized medical unit that uses interdisciplinary and customized protocols to reduce complications of hospitalization in geriatric patients, and addresses social barriers to discharge. Patients are admitted through geriatric center clinics, emergency departments, physician offices, and sub-acute rehab facilities, and hospital transfers. SUMMARY: ***Part-Time (20 hours per week) evening shift Under the direction and supervision of the Nurse Manager provides support for patients, visitors and colleagues on assigned nursing units. Facilitates efficient patient throughput including admissions, discharges and transfers. Supports patient experience and culture of safety goals through equipment maintenance, unit supplies, unit appearance and overall environment of care. Provides reception type services to patients, families, visitors and other unit guests.
