ABOUT THE JOB
We seek a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding and maintaining medical records. This role requires a solid understanding of coding systems, insurance billing protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and friendly office environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies.
- Review patient records for accuracy and completeness before billing.
- Utilize ICD-10 coding system to ensure proper coding of diagnoses and procedures.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the medical collection process.
- Communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies regarding billing inquiries.
- Maintain organized medical records and documentation in compliance with regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in billing regulations and coding practices.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies related to patient accounts.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in medical billing or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical coding systems (ICD-10) and terminology is essential.
- Strong understanding of medical office operations and procedures.
- Experience with medical collections is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficient in using billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
