What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Auditor - Real Estate position at Miami County?
NATURE OF JOB : Under general supervision of the Chief Deputy Auditor, the Deputy Auditor – Real Estate performs a variety of duties in support of the Miami County Auditor. Primary duties include processing transfers of real property and manufactured homes; verifying accuracy and correctness of all data pertaining to property deeds (e.g., Manufactured Home transfers and file maintenance); maintains property records and property descriptions noting changes due to sale or other conveyance; assists and confers with property owners, attorneys, land surveyors, real estate and business representatives on a regular basis; processes new construction, mapping changes and Board of Revision documents; performs functions related to real property assessment, including Current Agricultural Use Valuation (CAUV); assists the public with all questions related to real property and ad valorem taxation; utilizes real estate CAMA system; processes a large volume of complex legal documents with a high degree of accuracy. Performs routine bookkeeping and clerical duties; answers and directs telephone calls; types correspondence and memoranda. Performs other related duties as required, including, but not limited to responding to inquiries from county employees, officers, and officials, and the public; transmits information; prepares reports; attends meetings; MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : High school diploma, or equivalent required. Associate degree or higher preferred. Real estate experience a plus. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS : This position requires a positive attitude with excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with others. Must be able to lead projects with minimal supervision and to maintain high levels of accuracy while working under pressure to meet specific deadlines. Advanced proficiency level required for Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Microsoft Access and Publisher experience a plus.
