Do checklists make you happy? Are you a master of multitasking? Do you enjoy connecting with clients and providing excellent customer service? Miamitown Equine Veterinary Services is seeking a personable, professional candidate for a full time position as a veterinary receptionist.
Veterinary Receptionist duties include: answering the phone, scheduling appointments, and obtaining relevant information/patient history from clients using a specific, detailed checklist process. Other duties include stocking supplies, refilling prescriptions, maintaining proper and complete medical records. Hours when working in the office are 8am-4pm.
Occasionally, this position would fill in as a veterinary assistant on one of our vet trucks, but this is primarily an office position and we are looking for a long-term team member for this role.
Occasional Veterinary Assistant duties include: restraining horses, set up/clean up for procedures, assisting with X-rays, restocking and cleaning the truck, processing labwork, inputting records, and interacting with clients. Hours when working on a vet truck are approximately 8am-6pm. Due to the nature of a mobile practice, the length of the workday is variable based on farm calls and emergencies, and seasonality of equine practice.
Background check, drug testing, and driving record check required.
Candidate MUST have all of these required skills:
- Strong computer skills, very proficient in Microsoft Office/Excel, and easily learn new computer systems
- Attention to detail, skills to complete detailed checklists thoroughly
- Quick and efficient, ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities while staying organized
- A positive attitude to work with the public in a cheerful and friendly manner and integrate into our team culture
- Outstanding client communication skills and professionalism
- Experienced horse handling skills - please describe experience in resume/cover letter
- The ability to jog beside a horse
- The ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lb) that may need to be set up/broken down multiple times per day.
- The ability to work outside for extended periods of time in all weather conditions
- A valid driver's license and safe driving skills- must be at least 21 years old for our insurance.
- Ability to do computer/paperwork while in the truck without getting carsick
