MIAX Futures Exchange, LLC (“MIAX Futures”), a subsidiary of Miami International Holdings, Inc., is currently looking for a highly motivated full-time Market Surveillance Analyst for its Market Regulation Department.
The Market Regulation Market Surveillance Analyst is responsible for protecting the integrity of MIAX Futures’ futures markets by monitoring trade activity for compliance with MIAX Futures’ exchange rules and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) regulations. This role will have exposure to a wide range of MIAX Futures components including trade, financial, market surveillance and rule enforcement. There will be interaction with other commodity markets and regulatory bodies, as well as market participants.
MIAX Futures’ Market Regulation is responsible for ensuring MIAX Futures’ compliance with statutory and regulatory provisions associated with operating designated contract markets. Market Regulation Market Surveillance Analysts preserve the integrity of MIAX Futures’ markets by safeguarding the markets from abuse. To ensure compliance with MIAX Futures’ exchange rules, Market Surveillance Analysts use surveillance tools and other resources to monitor MIAX Futures’ markets for evidence of abusive, disruptive, or illegal activity; to detect and prevent manipulative behaviors; and to conduct trade practice investigations.
Main responsibilities include
- Analysis of daily market surveillance reports.
- Conducting compliance investigations.
- Collecting and reporting grain movement and stocks.
- Reviewing price convergence and volatility.
- Monitoring the futures delivery process.
Organizational Structure
The Market Surveillance Analyst will report directly to the Market Regulation Manager of MIAX Futures.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- Bachelors’ degree in finance, economics, accounting or equivalent education or experience.
- Attention to detail.
- Exposure to commodities markets.
- Exceptional analytical skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Prior derivatives or financial compliance experience preferred (CFTC or SEC financial regulation background preferred).
The anticipated annualized base pay range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000. Actual initial base salary will be determined based on factors that may include qualifications, experience, and/or geography.
