Transportation Operations Manager

Transportation Operations Manager paying up to $110K base for a national corporation with a facility in the Richardson area. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of an extremely fast-paced logistics facility.

The successful candidate will be security sensitive with prior logistics and P&L management experience, thorough understanding of DOT guidelines is highly preferred. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are necessary. People skills and leadership experience are a MUST!

This position is DIRECT HIRE and is available IMMEDIATELY!!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervision of all employees at the facility to include supervisors, drivers and employees
• Responsible for recruitment and training of new employees
• Reward, coach and counsel employees
• Ensure employee qualifications with Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines
• Daily vehicle assignments, ensuring vehicle safety and fitness through contact with vehicle services department or local vehicle maintenance vendors
• Supervise personnel and assist when needed
• Fill in on routes when needed
• Ongoing training and development of team members

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years of management experience in the transportation, logistics or related field
• Knowledge/experience in transportation, routing and driver supervision
• Valid state driver’s license and the ability to obtain a commercial license
• Maintain an acceptable driving record per company standards
• Ability to give clear oral and written instructions and have the ability to train and lead all employees
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access)
