What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Development Assistant, Footwear position at Michael Kors?
Who You Are:
A detailed-oriented, self-starter who will be involved in the Product Development aspects of Production. You will be a general support to all Product Development related tasks, including data entry and sample tracking and coordination. You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to product development milestones.
What You’ll Do:
- Communicate with factories and internal partners on all sample related status against due dates
- Maintain, track, unpack and organize PD related incoming/outgoing sample packages and distribute to related departments
- Coordinate inbound and outbound weekly footwear packages and troubleshoot any issues
- Maintain digital sample library in PLM
- Review accuracy of samples against BOM as directed by manager
- Maintain the organization of footwear related components/trim libraries, archives and confirmation sample closets
- Coordinate quarterly sample archive activities as directed by PD Coordinator
- Remind PD team on up-coming milestones and manage team calendar/reminders as needed
- Proactively stay on top of sample milestones for maintaining the sample tracking report.
- Data entry and maintenance in various systems as directed by manager
- Support the PD team on all related pre-market prep activities
- Support Manager of Product Development with other tasks and projects as assigned.
You’ll Need to Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Internship experience in Product Development or Fashion industry a must;
- Computer skills and a strong acumen for managing large sets of data
- Sample Management skills, Centric PLM, Microsoft Excel, Fashion GPS is a plus
- Strong communication and impeccable organization skills
- Detailed oriented and strong time management skills
- Be able to excel in high pressured environment with competing priorities
- Strong work ethic, sense of ownership and sense of urgency at all times
- Excellent collaboration skills
- Flexible with shifting of priorities
- Ability to interact and maintain positive relationships with diverse group of partners internally and externally
