Description
The Area Manager will:
Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects in the assigned area.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage construction crews and subcontractors.
- Schedule and assign tasks to workers, ensuring the right people are in the right positions.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all work is performed according to safety standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor safety protocols and resolve any potential hazards.
- Ensure that the construction site complies with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Oversee budgeting for the projects, ensuring materials and resources are acquired cost-effectively.
- Manage inventory and ordering of supplies, tools, and equipment for the job site.
- Monitor and track expenses to keep the project within the financial scope.
Client and Stakeholder Relations:
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, architects, and other stakeholders.
- Address client concerns and issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Provide regular project updates to clients, including progress reports and any potential delays or changes.
Quality Control:
- Ensure that the construction meets the highest quality standards.
- Address any defects or issues on-site promptly and ensure rework is done to specification.
- Perform quality assurance checks on materials and finished work.
Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain a detailed schedule for all projects in the area.
- Adjust schedules as needed based on unforeseen delays or changes in project scope.
Problem Solving:
- Address any issues or conflicts that arise on the job site, whether they relate to personnel, equipment, or construction challenges.
Reporting:
- Prepare regular reports for senior management on project progress, challenges, and any other relevant updates. Maintain detailed records of activities and changes throughout the construction process.
Training and Development:
- Ensure ongoing training and development of staff to keep them up to date with new construction techniques, safety standards, and regulations.
Profile
The successful Area Manager will have:
- 15 years of civil construction experience required
- Wastewater or water treament experience required
Leadership and Team Management: Ability to lead and coordinate construction teams, including subcontractors and laborers, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines.
Project Management: Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and overseeing project progress to ensure timely and within-budget completion.
- Safety Compliance: In-depth knowledge of safety protocols and regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. A strong emphasis on safety is a core value of this firm
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to interact effectively with clients, engineers, and team members, facilitating clear understanding and collaboration.
Problem-Solving: Capability to identify issues proactively and implement effective solutions to keep projects on track.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, AutoCAD) and understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work under pressure to meet deadlines and project goals
