Description
The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, developing and implementing safety programs, and fostering a culture of safety throughout the organization. This individual will work closely with project managers, field teams, and leadership to identify risks, conduct training, and enforce safety protocols on job sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs to comply with OSHA, state, and company regulations
- Conduct job site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Provide safety training and toolbox talks for field teams and project managers
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and implement corrective actions
- Work closely with project management and field leadership to ensure safe work practices
- Maintain and update all safety documentation, records, and reports
- Collaborate with subcontractors and general contractors to ensure safety compliance
- Stay up to date on industry safety trends, regulations, and best practices
Profile
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 2 years of safety experience in the construction or utility installation industry (Underground Utilities, Trenchless Installation preferred)
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor field staff
- Ability to conduct job site audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments
- Experience developing and implementing safety programs and policies
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and documentation
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA 30 Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience working with general contractors such as Whiting Turner, HITT, DPR, etc.
- Prior experience with trenchless underground installation or heavy civil construction

Salary : $85,000 - $110,000
