A leading medical device manufacturer in Rhode Island is seeking an experienced NPI Engineering Manager. The ideal candidate will be skilled in coaching, mentoring, and managing a small team of engineers and project management professionals. This position is part of the Pre-Production team and plays a crucial strategic leadership role in directing business program and project management (PMO) activities, ensuring execution aligns with the company's overall strategic goals.
Description
The NPI Engineering Manager's responsibilities will include:
* Implementing, maintaining, and enhancing New Product Introduction (NPI) governance processes.
* Developing and implementing strategic objectives that align with the company's broader goals.
* Reviewing Project Managers' and Project Engineers' status reports, addressing issues as needed.
* Developing technical and operational assumptions for cost models to support project recommendations and team decision-making.
* Managing the site's PP Budget, ensuring NRE and NPI revenue generation meet the revenue budget. Oversee the Capital Appropriation process, controlling capital expenses and timing to stay within established project objectives.
* Overseeing the strategic management of large programs and mitigate risks associated with these initiatives.
* Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of 5-6 Pre-Production team members.
* Providing expertise to internal teams and task forces, and collaborate with Sales and Technical resources.
Profile
A successful NPI Engineering Manager should have the following qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in an engineering-related discipline.
* 7-10 years of experience leading product development projects/programs in the contract manufacturing space.
* Experience in the medical device/life science industry is strongly preferred.
* Proven ability to form, organize, and lead product development teams from concept through to commercial launch.
* Willingness to work on-site the majority of the time (with occasional remote work options).
* The company is not sponsoring work visas at this time; a relocation package may be offered to well-qualified candidates.

Salary : $150,000 - $175,000
