Job Description
The Project D eveloper will be responsible for :
- Managing and executing the development of utility scale renewable energy projects from greenfield to NTP
- Leading projects, and mentoring more junior developers, to delivering necessary development tasks to move a portfolio of projects through various stages of the development life-cycle.
- Collaborate with engineering team and external consultants to evaluate site layouts and constraints, technology options, schedule implications, interconnection applications and studies
- Direct and conduct due diligence on development-stage project and portfolio acquisitions, including comparison and prioritisation of multiple opportunities based on common siting, permitting, interconnection, power-marketing and other project metrics
- Manage external stakeholders supporting environmental assessment campaigns
- Manage external stakeholders supporting property and sales tax abatement efforts
- Manage occasional permitting activities with support from other team members
- Prepare project budgets, schedules, and RFP responses
- From 3-6 years of utility-scale project development experience in the West and / or Central Region
- Direct experience with utility scale solar, storage, or wind projects
- Someone who see's the value in working with a strong team that focuses on professional growth and wants to hit the ground running.
- Experience with land development : landowner engagement, and negotiation / contracting, title resolution, agricultural land use / water restrictions
- Knowledge of governmental mandates, environmental regulations or customer / market signals that impact or facilitate new development of renewable projects
- Has a background in leading a portfolio of projects - ideally at various stages of development, through to NTP
