Current Opportunity: Technical Business Analyst – Austin, TX
We currently are looking for a Technical Business Analyst to join our Scholarship Product team and support the continued development of our Global Scholarship platforms. This role is based in Austin, TX.
The Scholarships team creates and maintains tools for the Dell Scholars Program (United States), the Dell Young Leaders Program (South Africa), and the Dell Aspire Scholars Program (India). The platform covers the complete scholarship lifecycle starting from application/selection, award disbursement, wrap-around support to achieve on-time graduation and career placement. Our business partners leverage a strong technology platform to enable them to manage and efficiently run their programs and processes.
The Technical Business Analyst will partner with the product team, the development team, and the business teams to gather requirements, translate those requirements into wireframe mock-ups to build user stores, and test user functionality.
As a Technical Business Analyst your primary responsibilities include:
- Gain a good understanding of the business domain and of our existing scholarship platform to be able to envision and help design future product improvements that will enable business goals.
- Collaborate with the non-technical business team members to gather, analyze, define, and document business requirements using various formats, such as wireframes, process workflow diagrams, and business rules.
- Perform detailed analysis of business requirements to identify dependencies and account for them in the requirements documentation.
- Working with product development team to translate business requirements to technical user stories that the developers can work on.
- Participate in all product development scrum ceremonies to assist in managing and prioritizing product backlog, ensuring developers have understood the requirements and are ready to start development.
- Collaborate with QA to execute test plans, test product and document product functionality.
The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in management information systems (MIS), computer science, software engineering, or related field and/or equivalent degree/industry experience. The ideal candidate must demonstrate knowledge/skills in most of the following areas:
3 years as a Technical Business Analyst or equivalent relevant experience in analyzing and defining business & technical requirements, preferably for web applications.
- Ability to translate complex requirements into mock-ups, process flow diagrams, problem statements, and requirement documents for the business and product teams to understand.
- Comfortable with using product data and industry data to inform product requirements.
- Familiar with Agile development methodology and comfortable working in small teams following Agile development methodology.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with relational databases (RDBMS) and ability to write and understand SQL would be a huge plus.
- Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

- Ability to build and grow relationships, leveraging excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrating a strong focus on delivering results.
- Ability to keep up with industry standard product and technology trends.

Salary : $90,000 - $125,000
