Postdoctoral Fellow in Neuropsychology

Michiana Neuroscience (MN) is seeking a Post-Doctoral Clinical Psychology Fellow in Northern Indiana. Successful candidates must be interested in neuropsychology and/or health psychology. Primary focus is upon private practice neurocognitive and psychological testing for TBI, Autism, Dementia type and staging, ADD/ADHD, s/p craniectomy, evaluation for METS to brain. We see patients of all ages but only patients under 10 years old if autism differential. Position involves close coordination medical staff in a multi-disciplinary setting. Hospital consults are largely acute/sub-acute rehabilitation options as well. Pay and benefits will be competitive and above industry norm.

MN is internationally respected in the fields of neurology, psychology and pharmacology. International lecturing options are available if interested. Michiana Neuroscience provides direct full-service psychology and psychiatry care along with neuropsychological testing in contracted facilities for acute rehab, skilled nursing, assisted living and retirement communities. We are diagnostic driven by neuro/psychological focused with close coordination with in house psychiatry at private practice along with external facilities.

External facility work will be acute rehab cases with recent onset depression and anxiety related to medical/surgical adjustment to physical and functional limitations such as amputation, spinal cord injury, etc. You will have no call as psychiatry takes the call and will consult as available for neuro/psych diagnoses clarification and recommendations. Our work is largely adjustment medical/placement, not chronically mentally ill, but there is some exposure to that population.

To our Illinois Candidates:

Northwestern Indiana is a great attraction for Post-Docs. You can sit for the EPPP as soon as you begin accruing Post-Doctoral fellowship hours. You can quickly transfer your license to Illinois from Indiana with only one-month lag before earning psychologist pay, versus 6 months at least in IL. Located in the greater South Bend area, home to Notre Dame, you will have the benefits of all that a major university provides to our community. You will also have the ability to train ND PhD interns. If you prefer to unwind in the big city, Chicago is 2 hours by car and there is train service from South Bend to downtown Chicago.

Training / Supervision:

You will always be paired with a neuropsychologist or licensed psychologist, along with coordination with our psychiatry providers. You will receive more than adequate supervision and clinical hours. Do not worry if this job appears too intensive or overwhelming. MN will meet you where you are at and your specific needs and will make sure you are comfortable with any work.
