Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic Cannabis Marketing Specialist to manage our retail dispensary’s online presence, including our website, social media accounts, email & text marketing, and other digital channels. This in-house role requires a highly creative, data-driven marketer with experience in marketing who can navigate compliance restrictions while maximizing brand engagement and growth in a fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Website Management: Update and maintain the dispensary website, ensuring accurate product listings, blog updates, SEO optimization, and a seamless user experience.
- Social Media Management: Oversee and create engaging content for multiple social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, etc.), ensuring compliance within cannabis marketing regulations.
- Content Creation: Collaborate and develop high-quality graphics, photos, videos, and written content for digital campaigns, promotions, and educational initiatives.
- Email & SMS Marketing: Build and execute targeted email and SMS marketing campaigns to drive customer retention and engagement.
- Advertising & Paid Media: Implement and manage PPC campaigns, display ads, and other paid media strategies in compliance with industry regulations.
- Brand Development: Enhance the dispensary’s brand identity, voice, and positioning through consistent messaging and strategic marketing initiatives.
- Community Engagement: Monitor and respond to customer inquiries, reviews, and messages across all digital platforms to build strong customer relationships.
- Analytics & Reporting: Track and analyze campaign performance, social media insights, website traffic, and customer engagement metrics to optimize marketing efforts.
- Compliance & Industry Trends: Stay up to date with cannabis marketing regulations and best practices to ensure all content aligns with legal requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: 2 years in digital marketing, preferably within the cannabis, retail, or CPG industries.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in social media management, email & text marketing platforms, website CMS, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro).
- SEO & PPC Knowledge: Experience with SEO optimization, Google Ads, and social media advertising.
- Strong Copywriting Skills: Ability to write compelling, brand-appropriate content for various platforms.
- Compliance Awareness: Understanding of cannabis marketing laws and regulations in Michigan.
- Creativity & Innovation: A keen eye for design, branding, and storytelling.
- Adaptability: Ability to pivot strategies based on data insights, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
- Team Player: Comfortable working cross-functionally with sales, customer service, and leadership teams.
