Position Details
Job Summary : U of D Jesuit is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Fundraising Assistant to provide critical support to the Advancement Department. This position is responsible for providing administrative and logistical support to the department, predominantly via data entry, donor acknowledgment, mailings, event registration, online donations, and donor inquiries, as well as other assigned duties and responsibilities.

Reports to : Vice President for Advancement

Duties and Performance Responsibilities:
- Accurately maintain and update information in the Raiser’s Edge database. Including but not limited to:
- Process all gifts, raffle tickets, and event registration fees.
- Prepare gift batches and reports for Business Office.
- Prepare daily gift report and assign thank you call action reminders for staff.
- Prepare gift acknowledgement correspondence within 1-2 days of gift receipt, mailing, and filing of documents.
- Prepare and send pledge reminders for outstanding pledges and recurring gifts.
- Prepare financial reports from Raiser’s Edge as needed.
- Prepare memorial cards for deceased donors/alumni classmates and remembrance cards for widows.
- Assist with Advancement Department portion of website, ensuring accurate information as well as functionality of giving forms.
- Prepare portfolio birthday cards for staff each month.
- Maintain brick paver program.
- Assist with Circle of Care Scholarship program, special events, and other departmental activities as needed. May require occasional nights and weekends scheduled well in advance (7-10 nights per year anticipated).
- Provide clerical support to the advancement department to include printing, mailing, ordering of supplies, ensuring equipment is functioning, and submitting work orders as needed.
Qualifications and Experience :
- Education – High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Two or more years of gift processing and donor acknowledgement preferred.
- Prior database experience, preferably in Raisers Edge/Blackbaud. Understanding of database processing and ability to perform queries, exports, reports and actions.
Other Skills and Abilities :
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Proven success in presenting new ideas and achieving results.
- Must be willing to understand and embrace the Jesuit and Catholic tradition of U of D Jesuit and develop a passion for the Mission of the School.
- Must attend required abuse risk management training.
- Must adhere to policies related to boundaries with students.
Physical Working Conditions :
Must be able to lift light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (10 to 20 pounds). Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Working Environment :
Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.
