Position Details
Graduation Alliance is seeking Michigan Certified Math Teachers. This teacher position is for an on-line course and includes assessment of student progress and academic intervention and support. Students and teachers work in an asynchronous environment which creates a flexible environment for both teacher and student. This position is part-time and works well to complement teachers who have other on-line positions or continue to teach in a brick and mortar environment.
Our students are enrolled in Graduation Alliance programs through their local high schools and state programs. Graduation Alliance provides all of the services that these students need in order to be successful. This includes an academic coach, a local advocate, online curriculum and teacher. The teacher’s primary responsibility is to assess students’ work. Our classes are mainly proprietary and housed in our Learning Management System (LMS). Teachers have an account and grade work on a daily basis. Student contact is expected but most of it takes place through our internal communication system. This contact includes providing alternative assessments when necessary and giving instructional guidance when requested. Most teachers work full time brick and mortar jobs and work for Graduation Alliance outside of regular school hours. Graduation Alliance employs teachers part time at a variety of FTEs. This number of hours expected per week is based on the FTE status
