Position Details
Qualified candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work with MDE temporary or full approval as a School Social Worker and demonstrate the following qualifications.
- Administer both standardized and informal assessments (observations, interviews, etc.).
- Coordinate or serve as a member of diagnostic teams and education planning and placement committees, and provide and sociological assessments related to planning for children with adjustment problems.
- Provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for children suspected of being eligible as a student with an emotional impairment, otherwise health impairment, or autism.
- Ability to lead staff in completing Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs).
- Lead staff in developing and implementing social, affective, and behavior interventions plans (BIPs).
- Ability to develop and implement positive behavior support systems.
- Assist staff and families with crisis needs and be an active member on the building’s Key Identified Personnel (KIP) team.
- Excellent verbal and written language skills.
- Organized and able to manage multiple assignments within multiple buildings.
- Experience and ability to write standards based IEPs including measurable goals.
- Collaborate with staff and families.
- Thorough knowledge of community agencies that support students and families.
- Experience with a variety of disabilities including ASD, EI and SXI.
- Must be CPI trained or willing to be CPI trained within 30 days of hire date and annually update CPI certification.
- Perform other responsibilities and assigned by Central Office Administration and/or Building Principals.
This position reports to the Central Office Administration and the Building Principal.
