Portland Public Schools: STEM Teacher Position
Portland High School is looking for a creative, forward-thinking educator to help shape our expanding academic pathways. We are looking for a STEM Teacher who understands the importance of building a long-term pathway that provides students with engaging, real-world learning experiences. This position will begin with the 25/26 school year.

The desired candidate would possess the following attributes:
- Ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning practices
- Exceptional communication, analysis, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Understanding of, or demonstrated training in, PBIS and MTSS initiatives
- Ability to handle complex and stressful issues or situations with sound judgment, common sense, and a calm demeanor
- Impeccable character, a good sense of humor, and compassion for school students, families, and staff
- Willingness to undertake extra-curricular assignments
Eligible candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate, 6-12 with science, math, and/or technology endorsement
- Strong base in the subject area content, instruction, and assessment
- Ability to use assessments and student data to drive meaningful instruction
- Ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships with students, staff, parents, and district colleagues
- Demonstrated ability to sustain and improve student achievement outcomes Willingness to contribute to a safe school climate of high expectations and strong collaboration, high staff and student morale, and positive community involvement

- Compensation: In accordance with PEA contract
