Position Title: Title I Paraprofessional
Job Summary: Litchfield Community Schools is seeking applications for a Title I
Paraprofessional for the 2025-2026 school year. Under the direction of the Title I Coordinator
and a certified classroom teacher, the Title I Paraprofessional provides academic and behavioral
support to students identified as qualifying for Title I services.
Wage: Per the Contract.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide instructional support services under the direct supervision of a teacher, including
small group or one-on-one work.
  • Assist with classroom management, such as organizing instructional and other materials.
  • Conduct parental involvement activities.
  • Provide instructional assistance in a computer laboratory.
  • Provide support in a library or media center.
  • Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as the Superintendent
or his or her designee may assign
Qualification Requirements
  • Must complete at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (equal ot
60 semester hours) OR
  • Obtain at associate’s degree (or higher)
Alternative Education and Experience
  • Meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through passage of an approved
formal state academic assessment in the following areas:
o Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and
mathematics; or
o Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading readiness, writing
readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate.
  • Current State Board of Education Approved Assessments
o College Board’s SAT
  • Must score at least a 480 on evidence-based reading and writing and a
530 on math
o ETS Parapro Assessment
  • A passing score of 460 is required Prior Approved Assessments
o Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC) Basic Skills Test
o MTTC Professional Readiness Examination’
o WorkKeys®
  • Minimum Scores:
  • Reading for Information – 4
  • Applied Math – 4
  • Writing – 3
o ACT (taken between 1/1/1989 – 10/1/2017)
  • Minimum Scores:
  • Reading – 22
  • Combined English and Writing 22
  • Math – 22
o Michigan Merit Examination (MME) (taken between 1/1/2007 and 1/31/2015)
  • Minimum Scores:
  • Reading – 1108
  • Writing – 1129
  • Mathematics – 1116

Education and/or Experience
  • Is knowledgeable on all Title I regulations and requirements.
  • Establishes and maintains productive, collaborative relationships with others.
  • Builds positive relationships with students, families, and the community; and
creates an environment where all individuals, regardless of background, are
comfortable.
  • Relates to students with mutual respect while carrying out a positive and effective
disciplinary program.
  • Models district standards of ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Applies knowledge of best practices in curriculum, instruction, and assessment,
and methods of supporting and extending instruction and student learning.
  • Maintains consistent, punctual, and regular attendance.
  • Self-motivated; able to accept constructive criticism and grow as a result.
Employment Date, Salary and Work Year
Anticipated start date will be as soon as possible for the 2025-2026 School Year. The
pay will be determined upon hire.
