What are the responsibilities and job description for the DROP TECHNICIAN position at Michigan Broadband Services?
Michigan Broadband Services has an immediate opening for a seasonal Drop Technician. This position is valid for approximately 6 months with a projected start date of April 1, 2025. A seasonal employee with Michigan Broadband Services is not eligible for our benefit platform, however, this position does have the potential to turn into a full-time position. We offer a competitive wage and on the job training. We want our candidates to be successful! A vehicle and gas card will be provided for the daily work. Some weekends and overtime are required. This position is per diem eligible.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Use small vibratory plows and trenching machines to direct bury fiber optic and copper cables from the service pedestal to the home
· Verify that all utilities are marked before beginning a job
· Ensure that all cable is buried to a minimum depth
· Restoration after the project is completed is vital
· Must be willing to travel and stay overnight as needed
Qualifications:
· Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable with our fleet insurance carrier
· Minimum of 18 years of age
· Some experience with plows/trenching machinery is a plus
· Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
· Able to walk/stand for up to 8 hours per day
· Must be willing to travel daily as needed to complete tasks
