Financial Analyst (Remote Marquette, MI) – MachTen
MachTen, a publicly traded holding company for Michigan Broadband Services, a provider of communications services including high speed internet, voice, video, mobile, home automation and managed hosting, is recruiting for a Financial Analyst based out of Marquette, MI. This is a new role and will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer of MachTen and will support financial planning, modeling, and detailed analysis that drive managerial decisions and provide transparency on past and future operations performance. Key Responsibilities
- Able to analyze and interpret reports, as well as articulate results to others, including operations management
- Support analysis of data as well as development/refinement of financial models related to continuous improvement initiatives and internal growth
- Responsible for business financial processes, including financial planning, and forecasting
- Drive efficiencies and standardization of processes across the organization
- Assist Accounting Manager in monthly, quarterly and annual closing process and prepare detailed variance analysis
- Report and analyze financial results via data analysis, including key trends, and variance analysis
- Increase productivity by developing automated reporting tools
- Support merger and acquisition analysis and integration as necessary
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting
- MBA in Finance or related discipline preferred but not required
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience. Priority given to candidates with experience in telecommunications
- Previous costing experience preferred
- Strong analytical and people skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple and diverse projects
- High level of proficiency in spreadsheet-based software applications, proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet (Excel, Power Query/Pivot), graphics, etc.
- Previous MACC experience preferred but not required
