OBJECTIVE
Payment Processing Specialist Objective
To process incoming payments for Farm Bureau Insurance Property/Casualty (P/C), Life and Annuity Companies, and Michigan Farm Bureau memberships. To post premium payments to the appropriate accounts and policies, and process other non-premium payments according to established procedures. To create general ledger vouchers of daily deposits and transfers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Payment Processing Specialist Responsibilities
Open, sort, and date stamp incoming payments and determine how they are to be applied by researching on various systems. Add batches and key payments in multiple billing systems. Process check payments electronically by scanning into the bank website. Prepare export and deposits for end-of-day balancing. Forward name and address changes and other correspondence to appropriate departments within the company.
Work with Life and P/C Customer Service and Processing areas, agent offices, and mortgage companies by telephone or e-form to resolve unidentified payments.
View LockBox web exception items each day to determine proper processing of payments and apply accordingly. Research and verify where money needs to be applied or rejected.
QUALIFICATIONS
Payment Processing Specialist Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Printing calculator and computer skills required.
Banking skills preferred. Keyboarding skills of 45-50 wpm with emphasis on accuracy required.
Reading and writing literacy, and math skills required.
Ability to meet deadlines and handle high volume workloads required.
Preferred
Professional office experience preferred.
Basic accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
