JOB SUMMARY:
The Residential Mortgage Processor will assist in the processing of loan team activity and volume.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with loan origination and closing in an Encompass environment.• Proficiency in FHA, VA, RD and Conventional mortgage processing a must.• Must be proficient in all aspects of TRID.• Ability to operate in a fast paced environment is essential. • Contacts made by telephone, direct computer access, letters, credit bureaus, employers, and personal references to check credit and personal references.• Assists in the preparation of credit information necessary to establish credit limit, including such factors as applicant's assets, credit experience, and personal references, based on predetermined standards.• Assist in the Loan Setup / Pre-Processing review • Order all vendor items on loan files as part of the loan setup• Must be able to work in a paperless environment of credit transactions, inquiries, pending loans, Loan Activity Report by representative, and Daily Loan Listing.• Provides assistance in data input, recording information, answering telephones, scanning and typing letters.• Assists team in efficiently and effectively processing the various activities involved in credit granting.• Becomes/is an advocate of The Michigan First Way, supporting all facets of it, including complete fulfillment of Our Promise, 5 STARS Service, SOLVE IT and our ISMs. Fosters a positive demeanor and image through professional representation in all contacts with both, team members and members. Consistently reflects and displays each of our “ISMs” in daily job performance, as well as in all business interactions while executing on our goals and initiatives. Learns and utilizes EMEC (Every Member’s Experience Counts) in day-to-day responsibilities when communicating with members only. Reflects each of the credit union’s “Isms” in daily job performance. • Ability to perform functions in an accurate and timely manner.• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
• High school diploma and a minimum of 5 years mortgage processing experience. • Possess strong interpersonal skills, to work effectively in a team environment.• Consistently maintain professional appearance and attitude. • Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to team members and members of the organization.• Ability to operate PC, including input, output, and inquiry to member accounts and other account information required in the member service function.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment, including proficiency in all spreadsheet capabilities. • Familiarity with the differences in a basic number of products and services offered by other financial institutions to those offered by the credit union.
