We are looking for an experienced Medical Assistant to instruct and train students on the principles and practice of a career as a Medical Assistant. This is a part-time, in-person, teaching position for our daytime class. Classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 AM until 12 noon.
While teaching at Michigan Healthcare Academy you will be under the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator, who will provide you with the curriculum and standards you will need to ensure you are fully prepared to teach this exciting course.

Job Duties:
· Responsible for the execution of weekly lesson plans.
· Responsible for comprehensive course instruction within specific program areas.
· Maintain accurate and appropriate coursework, logs, student records, and expense tracking sheets.
· Correct and return graded assignments within 48 hours to students.
· Maintain a current Medical Assistant certificate.
· Laboratory instruction, including phlebotomy, EKGs, vital signs and physical examinations.
· Keep current with information related to the topics you are instructing on.
· Attempt to build professional relationships with healthcare facilities so as to promote and place recent graduates in medical assistant jobs.
· Ensure that safe practices are utilized by students and staff.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred, along with 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
· Must possess a valid and current Certified Medical Assistant CMA/RMA/CCMA certification or relevant degree, along with corresponding licensure.
· Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in outpatient settings and proficiency in medical assisting practices such as phlebotomy and performing electrocardiograms.
· Possess basic knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Physical Requirements:
· Able to see, hear, speak, read, and write (with or without accommodation).
· Able to reach and bend.
· Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
