What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Coordinator position at Michigan Maritime Museum?
The Michigan Maritime Museum is looking for a self-driven, hardworking, and detail oriented individual to fill the Facilities Coordinator position. This individual will work closely with Museum staff to ensure that the campus stays beautiful, maintained, and running smoothly.
Key responsibilities of the position include:
- Daily preparation of the facilities including housekeeping, cleaning restrooms, garbage pickup, sweeping, vacuuming, restocking supplies, and other duties.
- Opening all outdoor exhibits and tidying them daily.
- Coordinating ongoing facility needs and maintaining supplies.
- Coordinating with staff to set up and tear down for private and special events.
- Working with and coordinating volunteers for set up and tear down of private and special events.
- Maintaining Museum grounds including weeding, shrub trimming, garbage pickup, blowing, watering and other duties.
- Completing minor facility maintenance projects.
This position requires a willingness to work weekends, weekdays, and occasional evenings and holidays. This position regularly needs to be able to lift up to 50lbs and stand for hours each day. Experience in facilities or related fields preferred.
