Michigan Millers Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a Billing Specialist to join our team!
What are the responsibilities and opportunities of this role?
- Responds to and answers agent and customer inquiries, ensuring a positive and memorable customer experience with a “one and done” service approach whenever possible.
- Maintains accurate records of inquiries and actions.
- Processes accounts receivable payments from policyholders and agents, creates and monitors disbursements, reviews all cash transactions including in-house processing and third-party transactions.
- Researches and corrects payment errors.
- Reconciles daily accounts receivable receipts with bank deposits for various payment types. To include daily balancing of cash to our billing software.
- Supports collection procedure efforts.
- Serves as a backup to accounts payable, as needed.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Communicates with banks regarding electronic submissions and transactions.
- Engages with vendors, as needed.
What are the must-have qualifications for a candidate?.
- Demonstrated understanding of accounts receivable process.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good written, verbal, and person-to-person communication and customer service skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in lieu of degree acceptable.
- Proficient use of various core systems, office and computer equipment, and software packages.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
What will our ideal candidate have?
- Associate degree in accounting.
- Intermediate to advanced skill in Microsoft Excel.
- Previous customer service experience.
Compensation Overview:
The hiring range for this role is $19.29-23.18 per hour. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience of each candidate as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. Candidates looking for compensation outside of the posted range are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their individual qualifications and / or may be considered for other positions.
