In this role, you will own and drive all aspects of our culture, people, training, recruiting, and onboarding. You will work directly with colleagues to evaluate deficiencies and create thorough work plans for departments to work smarter not harder. You will collaborate with Team Leads to drive learning and training opportunities. You will have a direct impact on the way Michigan Planners onboards new employees and retains our talent. You will also champion the performance management and develop & maintain talent management processes. This role has autonomy over HR projects and employee relations issues.

Primary Requirements
- At least 3 years of well-rounded human resources experience, with a portion of this time on a HR team with one to two employees
- An independent thinker, problem solver, and people cultivator with exceptional professional judgment to make decisions on behalf of Michigan Planners.
- Proven experience providing value-added coaching, guidance, and HR business partnership in a fast-paced professional services organization.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws and practices.
- Broad knowledge of recruiting, employee relations, training, compensation & benefits, performance management, organizational planning, and communications.
- Track record of creating excellent relationships with internal team members.
- A background in change management and helping employees navigate it.
- Experience with investigations, leaves of absence, and HR administration.
- A solid history in employee engagement & enrichment.
- Results oriented with a background managing multiple deliverables simultaneously.
- Ability to support your point of view with data, compliance, and/or HR expertise and knowing when to hold firm and when to back down.
- Ability to hold team members accountable, explain the “why” behind decisions, and take direction from various stakeholders.
- Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to self-manage, working both independently and on a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or SPHR preferred.
