Additional Job Information :
- Housing and utilities are included at an estimated value of $22,000 per year. This is in addition to the $30,000 base salary
- Schedule is flexible. During summer months, hours are steady at 40 hours per week plus Saturdays as needed in preparation for Camp Meeting in July. During months of October to April, hours are typically less than 40 per week as camp ground and camp meeting are closed and/or completed.
General Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the maintenance, safety, small updates, and development of camp-owned buildings.
- Maintains appropriate records for all buildings.
- Winterize and unwinterized all camp-owned buildings.
- As needed, assists in stocking paper towels, toilet paper, hand sanitizer and other such supplies for the camp owned buildings.
- Responsible for inspections by the health and county officials.
- Ensures grounds are cleaned up before, during, and after the season.
- Maintain the roads seasonally by grading and filling potholes throughout the year and plowing the snow during the winter.
- Responsible for cutting grass, picking up limbs and sticks, as well as leaf removal.
- Maintain trails through the woods and the fields in the back.
- Maintains and repairs the water mains and services from the city main to all curb stops (valves from cottages) and into all camp owned buildings.
- Maintain all camp owned septic systems and coordinate pumping and maintenance.
- Coordinate dumpster pickups and additional dumpsters for camp.
- Responsible for the regular maintenance, development, and storage of camp owned equipment.
- Operates equipment safely.
- Maintains appropriate records for all equipment.
- Ensure gates and doors locked and opened at appropriate times.
- Keeps track of the gate codes.
- Responsible for inspections of fire extinguishers by fire department and any other equipment that needs yearly inspections
- In conjunction with the Building and Grounds Director, makes recommendations for future maintenance needs which extend past established yearly budgets.
- In conjunction with the Building and Grounds Director, makes recommendations for future capital development and budgets to help meet advancement goals.
- Work within the yearly assigned departmental budget.
- Purchases supplies for the camp.
- Submits receipts to the treasurer in a timely manner.
- Agrees to and abides by the credit card policy.
- Funds received should be given in a timely manner to the appropriate personnel, not the Treasurer.
- Is responsible for the security of the grounds and buildings and contacts the police when there is a break-in or other issue.
- Carry out the policies established by the Eaton Rapids Campmeeting Board.
- Able to supervise and direct other maintenance staff and volunteers when necessary.
- Work with the office and hospitality to ensure facilities are set-up, and in good working order prior to guest group arrival.
- Coordinates groups/individuals who rent facilities outside of camp meeting. Does preparation as well as clean-up for such events.
- Remain flexible and ready to respond in case of emergencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- May (but not required) assist Cottage Owners with issues if time permits. Time and services rendered should not hinder the completion of main job responsibilities. Payment for any services provided to Cottage Owners is strictly forbidden.
