What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Ledger Accountant position at Micone staffing?
The GL Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the month-end closing process under the guidance of the Senior GL Accountant. This role includes preparing journal entries, ensuring the accuracy of general ledger statements, and assisting with financial reports, account reconciliations, and audit work papers.
Key Responsibilities :
Prepare and review journal entries for gaming and non-gaming operations.
Generate and distribute financial reports as needed.
Assist in month-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, and audit preparation.
Ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial data.
Attend meetings to stay updated on rules, regulations, and operational concerns.
Perform additional duties as required based on departmental needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Strong understanding of accounting processes and systems.
Experience in casino accounting is a plus.
Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; Infinium GL experience is a plus.
Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
Ability to calculate financial figures such as rates, ratios, and percentages.
Education & Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in finance / accounting.
Experience with General Ledger accounting is beneficial.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Certifications :
Must obtain and maintain appropriate licensing with the Nevada Gaming Board.
Physical Requirements :
Primarily sedentary work with occasional standing, walking, and lifting (up to 25 pounds).
Frequent use of wrist motion, dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
