ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- multi-axis and 5-axis production machines following prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills, and similar equipment.
- Chooses, aligns, and securely attaches holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and other materials on machines.
- Assists machinists in problem solving.
- Applies knowledge of mathematics and instruments to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
- Identifies malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining; adjusts controls of machine to correct errors.
- Inspects and measures completed production units to identify defects caused by machine setup.
- Keep machine tools in clean and working order and complete traveler fully and accurately.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 5 years Programming (Mastercam preferred).
- 8 years machining experience in Aerospace job shop required.
- Proficient in use of Mazatrol & FANUC controller.
- 5-axis programmer with proficiency in setup of 3, 4, & 5 axis machining centers required.
- Skilled user of aerospace job shop ERP system.
- Expert interpreting prints and flow down requirements.
- Expert understanding of CNC machine setups.
Summary
As an Aerospace CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for programming and operating CNC machines to manufacture precision components for the aerospace industry. Reporting to the Production Manager, your role will require strong skills in blueprint reading, CNC programming, and machining. You will utilize premium skills such as Mastercam, Fanuc, and CAM programming to ensure high-quality production standards.
