Duties
- Operate various machining equipment including lathes and milling machines to fabricate tools and components.
- Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to understand project specifications.
- Utilize SolidWorks for designing tool layouts and components.
- Perform electrical discharge machining (EDM) as needed for precision tooling.
- Employ precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy in fabrication.
- Conduct CAM programming for automated machining processes.
- Use hand tools effectively for assembly and adjustments of tools.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop new tooling solutions that meet production needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Tool Maker or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mathematical skills for precise measurements and calculations.
- Familiarity with CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, is preferred.
- Experience with CAM programming is advantageous.
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining techniques is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
