JOB SUMMARY:

The Human Resource Generalist provides human resources support and guidance on company policies and procedures. Provides consultation and collaboration in all functional areas of Human Resources (employee relations, staffing, compensation and benefits, training, change management, etc.). Works with HR leadership to collaboratively communicate and implement HR policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:
  • Work collaboratively with HR leadership and colleagues to develop and execute various human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Consults with laboratory management, providing HR guidance when appropriate (e.g., talent & performance management, coaching, career development, disciplinary actions, etc.).
  • Collaborates with HR colleagues to support process improvement initiatives for various HR administrative processes such as employee status changes, compensation requests, offboarding processes, etc.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Coordinates and communicates various HR programs and initiatives to the business including annual company performance evaluations and merit increases.
  • Creates HR-related content and conducts training as needed (i.e., managers, staff) to ensure HR compliance and full utilization of tools, resources and best practices with staff.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 3 years Human Resources experience.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • SHRM-CP a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be in a general office environment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • This job may require travel up to 15%
