Job Description
Microchip is looking for an Intern for a Material Compliance Engineering position to join our growing team. The roles and responsibilities of this position include:
- Support Microchip’s disclosures related to Product Material Compliance, Responsible Mineral Sourcing, and Sustainability
- Conduct due diligence product and supply-chain reviews in support of PMC disclosure activities and auditing processes by utilizing various data sources (internal systems, external supply chain as well as third-party service providers)
- Respond to internal and external customer requests for material compliance information (conduct data analysis and create material declarations)
- Research and communicate material compliance requirements and industry best practices for current and new products
- Contribute to review and enhancement of policies and processes to ensure product compliance
- Prepare and maintain custom reports and interactive dashboards
- Maintain records to support safety and compliance
- Support external data verification
- Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or Environmental Engineering;
- Knowledge of global environmental compliance directives, regulations, and standards, including EU ROHS, WEEE, REACH, WFD (SCIP), PROP 65, and conflict minerals
- 0 - 1 years of experience in Product Material Compliance
- 0 - 1 years of experience in Semiconductor Industry
- Ability to work within all levels of organization to ensure compliance
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and multi-task
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
