What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Intern position at MicroMetl Corporation?
We are looking for an aspiring engineer to fill an Engineering Intern position at the Indianapolis, IN facility. This summer intern role is a real-world learning opportunity to incorporate academic knowledge into hands-on work. During your time with the site MicroMetl Engineering team, you will assist and support the team with various lab work including testing, writing reports, simple design projects which may include 3D modeling and 2D drafting, gathering data for analysis, along with additional project support tasks. This role will also support the department with other administrative activities including document organizing, filing, copying/scanning, along with attending project update meetings to learn the full-cycle application of the design and implementation process.
The successful candidate will be currently pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (preferred) or related field with a current GPA of 2.0 or higher. This Internship would require availability Monday through Friday from 8:00a-5:00p over the summer months during class break, approximately May through August. This internship is within the manufacturing industry where one must understand and be comfortable with the working environment and physical requirements of the role, including a non-climate-controlled warehouse and standing on one’s feet or sitting for longer periods of time; and familiarity or knowledge of AutoCAD, Solidworks or other common engineering computer programming preferred.
