The Micron Module Architecture team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer, or Member of Technical Staff! This role would be a part of our Central Engineering team (CE). CE at Micron drives innovation and excellence in semiconductor technology by delivering innovative solutions that power our global manufacturing operations. We are a highly skilled group of engineers passionate about advancing efficiency, scalability, and quality in all aspects of engineering. The Role
This CE team is responsible for driving the development of industry-leading differentiated memory solutions for our customers in the data center and AI application space. In this role, your primary responsibility is to drive innovative solutions at the board level, in collaboration with our product architects, chip designers, SI engineers, power architects, memory controller architects, and validation engineers to craft power-efficient, high-bandwidth, space-optimized memory modules. Additionally, you will run simulations for functional and electrical performance analysis and develop specs for new and advanced HW architectures, including electrical, mechanical, thermal, and power specs. You will drive the board-level design (BLD) process, ensuring the successful integration of hardware components and subsystems.

Responsibilities
- Define system architecture and design specifications for innovative memory subsystem applications.
- Implement the BLD process, collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., electrical, mechanical, and firmware engineers).
- Design schematics and oversee PCB component placement and routing.
- Conduct feasibility studies, optimize system performance, and ensure design compliance in collaboration with suppliers and manufacturers.
- Perform hardware analysis, including signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal assessments, to ensure robust operation.
- Review PCB layouts and provide feedback to maintain alignment with design standards.
- Drive design reviews, resolve technical challenges, and mentor junior engineers to foster a collaborative environment.
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
- Requires 10 years Hardware Architect or similar experience, specializing in board-level design.
- 10 years of experience in schematic design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence OrCAD) and PCB layout tools (e.g., Allegro, PADS).
- 10 years of experience in functional electrical simulations in Verilog, System Verilog, or System C.
- 5 years of experience in embedded systems, microcontrollers, and FPGA-based designs.
- 5 years of experience with signal integrity analysis.
- 8 years of experience working with industry standards and regulations, such as IPC standards, EMC/EMI compliance, and safety certifications.
- 1 year of experience in Memory HW development.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multi-functional teams.
- 5 years of experience in leading successful product development projects, delivering high-quality designs within schedule and budget constraints.
