Microsoft Corporation has the following job opportunity:

Design, develop, modify, or evaluate electronic parts, components, integrated circuitry, or systems related to Microsoft technologies. Balance complex projects related to mechanical product design in fast-paced product development cycles. Collaborate with cross functional teams to research, design, build, test, or validate rapid prototypes of intelligent systems or devices. Review proposals for technical feasibility and help identify risks and technical roadblocks. May conduct end-to-end development or validation of complex hardware systems, server, or infrastructure designs. Understand technology, materials, and processes used in mechanical design and fabrication. Research, design, develop, or test automation, intelligent systems, smart devices, or other emerging technologies.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Hardware Engineering, Electronic Engineering Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field.
• Experience: Two years of experience in simulation for structural and thermal analysis to help guide and evaluate product designs.
• Specific Skill Requirements: This position requires at least 12 months of experience in: Data center cooling design and capacity calculation; Data center mechanical issue mitigation and remediation; and Engineering project management; at least 6 months of experience in: Data center mechanical system redundancy evaluations; and Data center mechanical system commissioning and design; and education or experience in: Critical facility audit and audit script design; and Workflow development to standardize collaboration across multiple organizations.

Pay Range and Benefits Information

The offered base pay range for this specific position (job code TSKBC18343), in Leesburg, VA, is $164,800 to $194,800.

 Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time. 

At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role. Benefits/perks listed may vary depending on the nature of employment with Microsoft and the country work location. U.S.-based employees have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and wellbeing benefits, among others.
