Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO I Mechanical Engineer, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.
Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters in 32 countries and millions of servers. Our foundation is built upon and managed by a team of subject matter experts working to support services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries worldwide.

Responsibilities
- Act as the technical authority for on-site operations related to a large-scale mission critical mechanical system, design, and functionality.
- Manage the mechanical infrastructures throughout datacenter campus ranging from a single large capacity facility, to several smaller ones.
- Work with commissioning teams to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of mechanical, civil and control systems.
- Understand the design and functionality of your datacenter.
- Establish and coordinate maintenance and safety procedures, maintaining highly redundant mechanical designs.
- Support 24x7x365 on-site datacenters operations and mechanical infrastructure.
- Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of data center activities.
- Working knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS).
- Must possess leadership competencies and a willingness to collaborate and work cross- functionally to maximize business results and positive customer experiences.
- Exhibit interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills to be used at varying levels of business up to and including business executives.
- Able to work with other technical and non-technical groups.
- Be a person of integrity, be methodical, and detailed-oriented.

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 2 years related technical engineering experience
- OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 1 years related technical engineering experience
- OR equivalent experience.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate’s citizenship will be verified with a validpassport.
- 8 years related technical mechanical engineering experience
- OR Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 5 years related technical engineering experience
- OR Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 3 years related technical engineering experience
- OR Doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 1 years related technical engineering experience
- OR equivalent experience.

Salary : $98,300 - $208,800
