The Modern Work & Security Central Lead Group Finance Manager is a high impact position (MW&S) supporting a transforming business in the AI era . This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to influence MW&S internal and external financial reporting across multiple teams including engineering , business planning , sales and finance . The individual will be responsible for MW&S end-to-end central views for close and forecast, including monthly and quarterly E xternal Segment Unit of Accountability r eporting for M 365 Cloud and M365 Commercial Products and Cloud Services revenue reporting and presentations .
This would include close and forecast central efforts across Modern Work (MW), Customer Partner & Field (CFP), Central Finance Team (CFT), and Microsoft Customer & Partner Solutions (MCAPs). Including accurate and timely rhythm and E xternal theme building by product around Adjusted Gross Revenue ( AGR), revenue adjustment s , growth contribution ana lysis and trending . Responsible for designing MW&S External Revenue and Seat Key Performance Indicators ( KPIs) in connection with Central Finance and Investor Relations to ensure that we are accurately measuring the MW&S business . This would include creating proforma KPI analysis as needed and Ad Hoc reporting.
They would be responsible for ensuring annual planning, budgets and quarterly budget restatements land appropriately across multiple internal systems and ensure proper controls are well designed.
The Modern Work & Security Central Lead Group Finance Manager will be responsible for exploring new revenue metrics and alternative metrics as business evolves overtime and helping with the implementation and the deployment of any changes to financial reporting across impacted teams in a compliant way and ensuring controls over financial reporting are effective and well designed. They would be well versed on external consensus, expectations across MW&S revenue and Seats, and historical communications around business drivers across M365 Commercial. This would include staying abreast of competitors reporting for additional insight.
Ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of finance data collected, stored and used to inform stakeholders on business activities. Seeking opportunities to improve financial reporting and financial reporting skills, formal training and team connections. T hey would be responsible for internal education and training around MW&S revenue and KPIs as MW&S revenue hierarchies. Ad Hoc Executive presentations and communications.

- Conceptualizes and designs new approaches to how financial reporting and data is collected and evaluated to impact future outcomes and decisions.
- Works with Microsoft experts to identify and leverage advanced tools and technology to aid in achieving greater production, autonomy, and goal attainment. Drives improvements in data management through automation.
- Understands the interconnections between data, information, and results and translates this into forward-looking narratives. Provides clarity and alignment with leaders. Implements creative ways to show patterns and draw conclusions to help drive decisions and clearly communicate findings. Generates actionable plans based on complex results, ambiguous findings, and multi-year time horizons.
- Guides others to contribute to reporting review processes. Manages the reporting rhythm s for the area of responsibility. Collaborates to ensure execution of plans and accountability for results.
- Directs, performs, and reviews analysis and research of present and future financial performance, financial plans (e.g., expected returns, resource allocation, pricing, investment opportunities), and economic transactions (e.g., customer deals, commercial partnerships, acquisitions). Prepares, summarizes, and makes recommendations.
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6 years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
- OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4 years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
- OR equivalent experience.
