What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at MicroTransponder?
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day accounting operation. This position will support various financial functions and be responsible for a broad range of accounting tasks. The ability to adapt to the evolving needs of a start-up and to pivot quickly will be key as we continue to scale our business.
Position Responsibilities:
MicroTransponder provides a comprehensive benefits program to employees. It includes medical, dental and vision plans along with an FSA. Position Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Process vendor invoices and ensure accurate and timely payment of bills
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Work with payroll service provider to manage payroll processing
- Maintain and update the fixed asset subledger and ensure accurate tracking and depreciation
- Coordinate and assist with annual audit preparation and execution. Ensure all documentation and schedules are accurate and complete for auditors
- Assist with monthly/quarterly sales tax filing and management
- Understanding and assistance with the order to cash process when needed
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required, CPA, CMA or MBA preferred not required
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive accounting/finance experience required
- Startup or small company experience preferred. Must have the roll up your sleeve's mentality
- Proven hands-on experience in A/R, A/P, GL and cash management
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting and audit preparation
- Previous involvement in ERP system implementation and management, NetSuite experience strongly preferred
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment
- Preferred experience in implantable medical device market, but not required
