Job description
We are looking for a new team member to set up, maintain, and operate our Cincinnati brake presses. Our brake press work consists mainly of lighter gauge aluminum, usually ranging from 0.040” to 0.125” thick, though there are occasions we work with thicker plate or steel. Our brake presses range from 12’ to 14’ long and are operated using a computer interface. Work is completed based on work orders and prints, from which the operator will set up the machine and run the parts. The ideal candidate will be familiar with quality inspection tools such as angle gauges and calipers.
**Duties:**
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend, form, and shape metal sheets according to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job orders to determine machine settings and tooling requirements
- Select and install appropriate tooling, such as dies, punches, and clamps
- Load metal sheets onto the machine and position them correctly for bending operations
- Adjust machine settings to control speed, pressure, and bend angles
- Monitor machine operation to ensure quality and accuracy of bends
- Inspect finished products for defects and make necessary adjustments to achieve desired results
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance
**Skills:**
- Experience operating press brake machines or similar equipment
- Proficiency in using hand tools for setup and adjustment purposes
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions
This position requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate should have good communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
